RegenLend

Compeer Financial,
PepsiCo, Inc.

Compeer Financial is teaming up with PepsiCo and other industry partners to offer a pilot leasing program for strip-till equipment, helping offset upfront financial costs for farmers implementing soil conservation practices on their farms. Through RegenLend, Compeer Financial will lease the equipment to farmers, and PepsiCo will cover two annual lease payments to share the cost of investment with farmers.

Strip-till can be an initial steppingstone for farmers exploring soil conservation practices to improve soil health on their farms. However, strip-till also comes with an upfront investment in equipment that can present a barrier to many farmers. The new RegenLend program addresses this barrier by leveraging a unique collaboration between the farmer, an ag lender and the food value chain. The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) aided in the development of this program, and the Soil and Water Outcomes Fund (SWOF) are operational partners in its management and operations.

The response to RegenLend's limited pilot program exceeded expectations, and the 2026 pilot is now fully subscribed. Compeer will continue to gauge interest in future funding opportunities and partnerships for strip-till, no-till, cover crop and precision equipment.

Eligibility

  • RegenLend is designed for farmers who can implement strip-tillage systems or directed conservation practices on 600+ acres.

  • Qualifying operated acres must be committed to the Soil & Water Outcomes Fund (SWOF).

  • Leases go through Compeer's standard credit process.

How it works

  1. Choose your equipment. Pick the strip-till system that fits your operation. The pilot preferred partner is Soil Warrior, which is offering up to $5,000 in replacement parts and service through RegenLend enrollment.

  2. Enroll your acres. Commit your qualifying operated acres to the Soil & Water Outcomes Fund (SWOF). The more you enroll, the more you earn back, up to 100% of the full incentive.

  3. Compeer structures your lease. Apply through Compeer like any standard equipment lease: six annual payments and the residual buy-out over 72 months, with a standard credit process.

  4. PepsiCo covers two payments. Two years of lease payments are covered: the year-2 payment and the same amount towards the residual at month 72, paid by PepsiCo through SWOF. The incentive is only paid if practices are achieved on agreed-upon acres.

What you'll save. Save up to 35%. The rebate depends on how many acres you enroll and the percentage of your farm's operation you are implementing into practice. Savings can be as high as $90,000 for a 1,500-acre farm on a $250,000 strip-till bar.

Qualifying equipment. RegenLend provides limited-window leasing opportunities for conservation equipment based on partner funding and equipment availability. The initial offering included strip-till systems, and additional equipment categories are being evaluated with program partners. The program page lists:

  • Strip-till systems: Soil Warrior 4530 SED XX2 12-row (new or used), 4540 SED D3 16-row and 4544 SED XX2 24-row, plus other brands of new strip-till systems

  • Planting and seeding with precision technology: no-till planters with precision depth control, high-speed precision planters and air seeders for cover crops

  • Advanced application systems: precision fertilizer applicators, GPS-guided spraying systems and variable rate application equipment

Stacking. RegenLend can be paired with and complement EQIP and REAP USDA programs.

Fine print. This is not a commitment to lend, lease or extend credit. There is no guarantee that all applicants will qualify. Other restrictions, program and underwriting criteria apply. Terms, conditions and programs are subject to change without notice.
