Black Farmer Fund (BFF) is an emerging community investment fund that invests in black food systems entrepreneurs in New York State. Beyond making investments in these communities, they also&#x2004;emphasize building financial education and investment literacy and active involvement of the community when discussing and creating financing options.

Black Farmer Fund's Vision

- For Black farmers, vendors, food distributors, caterers, restaurant owners, composters, and other food business actors, we will provide non-extractive blended capital financing that suits their needs and their current reality. Community wealth building is key to BFF's mission and BFF  also provides opportunities to facilitate learning exchanges with its community members and finance experts to expand their knowledge base around financial tools. 
- For social impact investors, BFF provides a means to support and strengthen the economic infrastructure of Black food businesses and build community power and community wealth building.

The Black Farmer Fund Rapid Response Team exists to support Black farmers & food actors across the Northeast in **emergency situations**. This fund seeks to address acute emergencies to provide immediate restoration of an operation—not recurring expenses, rental assistance or start-up costs. BFF's intention is to provide direct financial support more quickly than traditional fundraising options.



The Black Farmer Fund Rapid Response Team exists to support Black farmers & food actors across the Northeast in emergency situations. This fund seeks to address acute emergencies to provide immediate restoration of an operation—not recurring expenses, rental assistance or start-up costs. BFF's intention is to provide direct financial support more quickly than traditional fundraising options.

Black farmers and food actors are eligible; including but not limited to farmers, ranchers, herbalists, caterers, producers, restaurant owners, etc.
Farmers in the following Northeastern states are eligible: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Jersey, and New York, Pennsylvania.

The Rapid Response Fund currently accepts applications on a quarterly basis.
