Organic Certification Cost Share (NC OCCSP)
North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
Certified organic operations can apply for cost share assistance toward the cost of USDA organic certification through the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) or at any Farm Service Agency (FSA) county office. There is no difference in eligibility or reimbursement amount between the agencies; however, the paperwork may differ. Before a product can be labeled USDA organic, a government-approved certifier inspects the operation to ensure it follows all rules needed to meet USDA organic standards, and handlers/processors of organic food must be certified too.
Eligibility
Certified organic operations — farms and handling/processing operations certified to USDA organic standards.
