Wisconsin Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program (RFSI)

Wisconsin's administration of USDA's Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) Program, supporting middle-of-the-supply-chain infrastructure for local and regional food. Open to producers, processors, and nonprofits.

Producers, processors, aggregators, distributors, food hubs, and nonprofit organizations operating in the middle of the food supply chain (aggregation, processing, manufacturing, storage, transport, wholesaling, distribution) for locally and regionally produced foods. Awarded under two tracks: Infrastructure Grants and Equipment-Only Grants.

Federally funded through USDA-AMS (Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure program) and administered by Wisconsin DATCP. To date $27.2 million has been awarded across 81 grants (51 Equipment, 30 Infrastructure). Match requirements vary by grant track under the USDA-AMS RFSI framework.

DATCP administers RFSI under a cooperative agreement with USDA-AMS. Wisconsin has awarded $27.2 million across 81 grants (51 Equipment, 30 Infrastructure). The most recent equipment-only round opened June 19, 2025 with recipients announced October 24, 2025; no application round is open as of September 2026 and the program is in the grant-management/reimbursement phase.
