
Virginia Agriculture Food Assistance Program (VAFAP) Grant
Reimbursable grants to charitable food-assistance organizations to purchase Virginia Grown agricultural products (food grown, packaged, or minimally processed in Virginia) for distribution to food-insecure Virginians. Awarded through a competitive panel review; applicants must present a plan to engage local farmers and growers and demonstrate improved access to nutritious food and community impact. A total of $1.1 million in reimbursable funding was available for the Spring 2026 round.
Eligibility
Charitable food assistance organizations - non-profit or community-based organizations operating in Virginia that provide nutrition assistance to relieve emergency and distress - with a plan to purchase locally grown, minimally processed products from Virginia farmers.
