GFP helps South Dakota producers keep flightless Canada geese out of growing crops by installing temporary electric fence around soybeans. It also offers up to $5,000 in cost-share for protective buffer strips (wheat, alfalfa or native grass) and up to $5,000 for woven-wire fence along wetland edges. Hazing, alternate feeding sites and egg addling are also provided.
