Oregon Farm to School Equipment & Infrastructure Grant

The Oregon Department of Agriculture's Farm to School Equipment and Infrastructure Grant Program funds equipment, coolers, processing improvements, and food-safety upgrades that help Oregon producers, ranchers, seafood harvesters, and processors start or expand sales into K-12 schools, Tribal meal programs, and other Child Nutrition Program sponsors. ODA has set aside $210,000 for the 2025-27 biennium, with individual awards ranging from $10,000 to $50,000. Applicants must contribute a cash or in-kind match of 10-20% of the requested amount, based on their experience selling to schools.

• Oregon farmers, ranchers, seafood harvesters, fishermen, and food processors with equipment or infrastructure needs

• Must intend to sell food grown, harvested, gathered, raised, caught, or processed in Oregon to: a school district in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP); a CACFP center-based child care provider; a Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) site; or Tribal schools, Tribal Early Learning/Childhood Education sites, and other Tribal meal programs

• Must provide a cash or in-kind match: minimum 20% for applicants that have sold to schools more than 5 years, 15% for 1-4 years, 10% for no prior experience selling to schools

• Award range: $10,000–$50,000 per project

• Total funding: $210,000 for the 2025-27 biennium (a second round may add awards if funds remain)

• Match required: 10%, 15%, or 20% of requested funds depending on the applicant's years of experience selling to schools

• Funds cover equipment/infrastructure only (grading, packing, labeling, cooling/refrigeration, processing equipment, food-safety certification, season-extension equipment, contractor costs for installation, etc.); advertising, lobbying, and fundraising costs are excluded

The 2025-27 biennium's first Request for Applications (RFA) opened February 13, 2026 and closed March 31, 2026 at 5:00 pm PDT — that window is now closed. Proposals were screened in April 2026, reviewed by a Grant Evaluation Committee, and awards were announced in May 2026 with funds available by June 2026. Pending availability of additional funding, ODA may open a second round of awards later in the 2025-27 biennium, though no date has been announced.
