Oregon Agriculture Water Quality Support Grant

Oregon's Agricultural Water Quality Program, run by the Oregon Department of Agriculture, offers Agriculture Water Quality (Ag WQ) Support Grants of $20,000 to $149,000 to Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs) and Watershed Councils (WCs) for agricultural land condition assessments, water-quality monitoring, outreach/education, and technical assistance that help prevent and control water pollution from agricultural activities. The 2025-27 biennium's solicitation opened January 8, 2025 and closed March 5, 2025; awarded projects run through June 30, 2027. No cash match is required.

• Applicant must be a State of Oregon Soil and Water Conservation District, a recognized Watershed Council, or their fiscal sponsor

• Must carry appropriate liability insurance and have a Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) or current nonprofit tax ID status

• Applicants should consult with their ODA Regional Water Quality Specialist (RWQS) before submitting; collaboration with an RWQS is a scored criterion in the review process

• Award range: $20,000–$149,000 per grant or applicant

• No match required

• Funded activities must be completed, and expenses incurred, by June 30, 2027

• This grant is contingent on funding the ODA AgWQ Program receives from the legislature in the 2025-2027 budget

• Eligible proposal types: Agricultural Land Condition Assessments, Monitoring, Outreach and Engagement, and Technical Assistance (on-the-ground restoration implementation is not eligible)

For the 2025-27 biennium, applications opened January 8, 2025 and closed March 5, 2025 at 11:59 pm — that window is now closed. Grants were reviewed March 6-May 1, 2025, with grant-ranking announced May 8, 2025; approved projects run July 1, 2025-June 30, 2027 (interim check-in Aug 12, 2026; draft completion report due June 15, 2027; final completion report due Aug 12, 2027). Applications are submitted online through ODA's AgWQ Support Grant portal with a complete application, budget form, Racial and Ethnic Impact Statement, liability insurance information, and FEIN/nonprofit tax ID attached.
