
New York Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Farmer Grant Program (LAND Project)
The Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Farmer Grant Program, offered under the name the Landing Access: Novel Directions (LAND) Project, assists farmers who face disproportionate barriers to success due to discrimination. It provides funding for projects such as the start-up, improvement, or expansion of a farm operation; the purchase of agricultural land and physical structures; the purchase of machinery, equipment, or livestock; worker or staff training; and marketing activities. The program is administered by the Northeast Farmers of Color Land Trust (NEFOC).
Eligibility
For-profit business owners who experience discrimination by virtue of their membership in a particular group and whose ability to enter into farming or the success of their farm enterprise has been impaired.
