National ROPS Rebate Program (ROPS Rebate)

Rebate program that pays farmers about 70% of the cost of buying, shipping and installing a certified Rollover Protective Structure (rollbar) and seatbelt on an older tractor, with a $500 out-of-pocket cap in most states ($865 rebate cap in MA). Farmers enroll by phone or online, get pre-approved when state funding is available, buy and install the kit, then send receipts for a check within 60 days. New York's arm has installed 2,000+ ROPS since 2006.

To receive a rebate, you must 1) be a resident of the state in which you are applying for a rebate from, and 2) use the retrofitted tractor for agricultural purposes. Only one tractor per farm can be retrofitted at a time in most states. ROPS kits must be purchased new and certified; homemade ROPS and cabs not eligible. State extras: IL and WI require professional installation and limit one tractor/year; MN and NY allow school agricultural programs; NY and MA rebate sun canopies bought with the kit.

Massachusetts offers a 70% rebate, up to $865. Rollbar prices run from approximately $150 all the way up to nearly $2,500 plus shipping and installation.
