Delaware Urban and Community Forestry Program

Delaware's Urban and Community Forestry Program, run by the Delaware Forest Service within the Delaware Department of Agriculture, provides financial and technical assistance to help municipalities, nonprofit groups, community associations, and homeowners plant and care for trees. Full-time forestry staff help cities, towns, and communities manage and care for their urban forestry resources — conducting tree-health assessments, answering tree questions, making species and placement recommendations, and providing technical assistance and educational programming to developers, planners, and engineers.

Financial assistance is available to municipalities, nonprofit groups, community associations, and homeowners for tree planting and care; technical assistance and educational programming are available broadly to Delaware communities. Applicants are typically communities and organizations working to plant and manage community tree canopy.
