Arva Natural Carbon Program

Arva Intelligence

Arva connects row-crop farmers to carbon and sustainability markets, paying them for verified environmental assets generated by regenerative practices. Arva consolidates the farmer's field data, generates agronomic recommendations, matches the farm with buyer opportunities, and sells the resulting assets to corporations — the farmer sees revenue potential upfront and chooses how to participate.

Arva reports having paid more than $100 million to farmers for regenerative practices, and states it shares the majority of its carbon revenue with farmers, including payments for existing practices. It runs both offset programs (registry credits — carbon credits may be issued through the Verified Carbon Standard) and insetting programs inside corporate supply chains, and works through the agronomic advisors farmers already use.

Regenerative practices Arva pays for include cover crops, crop rotation, minimizing chemical inputs, and integrating livestock.

Eligibility

Eligibility is determined through Arva's online eligibility check, based on location, crops, and current practices. Arva's published focus is US row-crop operations — corn, soybeans, and rice feature in its verified projects — implementing or maintaining regenerative practices such as cover cropping, crop rotation, reduced chemical inputs, and livestock integration.

No minimum acreage, state list, or practice-history requirements are published.

Terms

Arva publishes no payment rates, contract lengths, or program fees. Its farmers page states it shares "the majority of our carbon revenue" with farmers, including for existing practices, and that farmers see revenue potential upfront before choosing how to participate.

Carbon credits may be issued through the Verified Carbon Standard (Arva's registered VCS project covers corn, soybeans, and rice). Arva also runs insetting programs, where the emission reductions stay inside a corporate buyer's supply chain rather than being sold as offsets.

Application Instructions

Check eligibility through Arva's form (linked from arva.com/farmers — the "Check Your Eligibility" flow). Arva then matches the operation with program opportunities and manages enrollment, monitoring, and verification.
