AgriCapture pays farmers and landowners for verified emissions reductions and crop premiums across three lanes: sustainable rice (where flooding-management changes cut methane), other row crops, and grasslands or ranchlands. The company generated the first large-scale carbon credits for rice methane reduction in US history — 37,000 tons of CO2e — and also markets Climate-Friendly certified rice to mills and food companies at a premium.
AgriCapture handles the business side end to end: registration, monitoring via satellite imagery and ground-truth data, verification, and credit sales, so the farmer's role is the practices themselves. Revenue can come as carbon credit income, crop premiums for certified sustainable grain, or both.
It starts with a personalized land management plan built around the operation.
Eligibility
-
Rice growers changing water and residue management (the methane-reduction lane), row-crop farmers adopting regenerative practices, and grassland or ranchland owners increasing soil organic carbon.
-
AgriCapture asks prospective enrollees for crop type, acreage, location, and management practices to evaluate eligibility; no published minimums or state list.
Terms
No payment rates, contract lengths, or minimums are published. Revenue comes from third-party-verified carbon credits (AgriCapture manages registration, verification, and sale) and from crop premiums, where AgriCapture verifies climate benefits, maintains traceability with mills, and markets the grain. The rice methane lane produced the first large-scale US rice methane reduction credits; AgriCapture also runs Scope 3 insetting for supply-chain buyers, and participates in USDA's Advancing Markets for Producers work.
