Wisconsin Farmland Preservation Planning Grants
Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection
State grants from Wisconsin DATCP to counties to develop or update farmland preservation plans under the state's Farmland Preservation Program.
Eligibility
Institutional applicant: Wisconsin counties with agricultural lands. Not a direct-to-farmer grant — the resulting state-certified county farmland-preservation plan enables farmers in that county to claim farmland-preservation tax credits.

Terms
Grants reimburse up to 50% of a county's cost to prepare or update a state-certified farmland preservation plan, capped at $30,000 per county. A certified plan is a prerequisite for landowners in the county to qualify for farmland-preservation tax credits.
