Wisconsin Clean Sweep Grants

State grants from Wisconsin DATCP to counties and municipalities to collect and safely dispose of agricultural and household pesticides and unwanted prescription/pharmaceutical drugs.

Institutional applicant: Wisconsin governmental entities (counties and municipalities) and Tribes. Very-small-quantity hazardous-waste businesses may also participate in collections. Not a direct-to-farmer grant — farmers use the collection events these grantees run to dispose of unwanted agricultural pesticides and chemicals.

Reimbursement grants funding the collection and safe disposal of agricultural pesticides and farm chemicals, household hazardous waste, and unwanted prescription drugs. Total annual allocation is $1 million — $775,000 for household hazardous waste, $175,000 for agricultural collections, and $50,000 for unwanted prescription-drug collection.

Applications are submitted online via AccessGov using a MyWisconsin ID; first-time applicants may submit paper applications by email or mail to the Clean Sweep office. Applications for 2027 grants were due 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2026; the program runs annually with the next round expected in spring 2027.
