SMADC's Regional Agriculture Project (RAP) grants are awarded to partners throughout the five Southern Maryland counties for projects deemed to have structural longevity and a lasting impact on the regional farming community.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are partner organizations and county entities (Farm Bureaus, Soil Conservation Districts, schools, local economic development, and others) throughout the five Southern Maryland counties. Preference is for residents/entities of Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George's, and St. Mary's counties.
Terms
RAP grants target projects such as farmers' market enhancements, agricultural education projects for youth and new/beginning farmers, increased access to fresh food in urban communities, and applied research (e.g., wine grape varietals suited to Southern Maryland).
