Electrified Dairy Feed Mixing Program

Pilot incentive for Valley dairies and other CAFOs to convert diesel-powered feed mixing and delivery to electric stationary mixing systems, paying 65% of eligible equipment and infrastructure costs (electric mixers required; conveyors, concrete, electrical infrastructure, feed pushers) plus tractor and truck replacement/reduction components. First come, first served by application-complete date.

• Dairies and other confined animal facility operations (CAFOs).

• Operations located within the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.

• The operation must currently use diesel-powered equipment to run its feeding operation.

• Every funded project must change the feeding operation by eliminating some diesel-powered equipment.

• Existing off-road equipment being replaced or reduced must have been owned and operated in California for the previous two years.

• Existing on-road feed trucks must have been owned by the applicant for the past 24 months.

• Existing on-road feed trucks must have been registered in California for the 24 months before application.

• Existing on-road feed trucks must be based within the San Joaquin Valley APCD boundaries per their DMV registration address.

• No infrastructure work, equipment purchases, payments, or taking possession may occur before a fully executed District contract.

• Back-up generators are not eligible.

65% incentive; reimbursement per Electric Dairy Payment Procedures; old equipment destroyed by certified dismantler.

Published amounts: 65% of the total cost of eligible equipment and infrastructure, up to a maximum cost effectiveness of $30,000 per ton of emissions reduced; three components (infrastructure/electric equipment, off-road mobile tractors, on-road trucks).
