This 5-year project will expand climate-smart&#x2004;practice implementation, soil carbon measurement and monitoring, business planning, and market support for producers and purchasers in the West, Mountain West, and Northeast United States. Each farm project will have the opportunity to be connected to open-source, farmer-centric agricultural technology to support their practice implementation and market access. Additionally, investments from purchasers and other funders will go beyond federal funding, increasing the resources accessible to producers for such climate-smart practice implementation.

The program will:

1. Expand purchaser commitments, 

2. Create innovative Transition Financing models, 

3. Develop CSA Connector and Marketplace Exchange for matching buyers, funders and producers, and 

4. Create community engagement and consumer marketing. 


ACTION plans to work closely with California Association of Resource Conservation Districts and 19 RCDs which already have NRCS funding for outreach to underserved producers, as well as American Farmland Trust for outreach in CA, in CO, ACTION will work with Mile High Farmers, and in the Northeast with Black Farmer Fund, Northeast Farmers of Color, and Food Solutions New England.
