This project will focus on a training program about climate-smart agriculture (CSA) practices in conjunction with financial incentives for ag producers who implement the CSA practices. The goal is to expand climate-smart agriculture markets throughout Missouri and serve as a teaching model for other&#x2004;states.


To better engage small scale producers, including underserved farmers, the project plans to offer 100 farmers incentive funds to create climate-smart fieldscape demonstrations including cover crops and regenerative grazing.


Participating farmers will receive financial incentives for climate-smart practice adoption, technical support, and training and improved marketing opportunities. The climate-smart practices, which will be adopted on up to 500,000 acres of Missouri farmland, are aimed to improve resiliency of farm operations in the face of extreme weather, including droughts or excessive rainfall.
