This project plans to make direct payments&#x2004;and provide technical assistance to small-scale dairy farmers to implement climate-smart grazing management. The resulting climate-smart milk is planned to be marketed through a shared digital marketing campaign and tactical marketing tools to accelerate consumer awareness and build trust and industry adoption. A network of the farms are also planned to serve as training sites, enabling the Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship (DGA) program to aid producers in expanding their positive climate impacts while generating revenue.

Dairy farmers in participating states are eligible to apply. Participants must share farm FSA records to participate. 

A lump sum of money for a specific purpose that does not need to be paid back.

As part of this project, participants will be required to monitor their pastures using PaddockTrac, an ATV mounted sensing system that calculates pasture cover. A PaddockTrac unit will be provided to each farm, but participants are responsible for maintaining an ATV in good working order and collecting measurements.
