Oregon Private Forest Accord Grant Program

Oregon's Private Forest Accord Grant Program funds projects that restore or protect habitat for the salmon, trout and amphibians covered by the Private Forest Accord Habitat Conservation Plan, such as riparian fencing or grazing exclusion, off-stream stock water, fish-passage barrier removal, large wood placement, beaver restoration, water transactions and land conservation. Individuals cannot apply on their own, but a landowner can partner with an eligible applicant such as a watershed council, soil and water conservation district or nonprofit; private corporations and LLCs are also eligible. The next round opens November 12, 2026, with applications due January 8, 2027.

• Eligible applicants: "Colleges and Universities; Federal agencies; Local governments and political subdivisions; Non-profit; Private corporation or limited liability corporation; Soil and Water Conservation Districts; State agencies; Tribes as recognized by the State of Oregon; Watershed Councils"

• "Individuals are not eligible to apply independently but may partner with an eligible applicant."

• Projects must benefit HCP-covered species; project types: Implementation, Research & Monitoring, Planning, Water Transactions (Conservation Easements pending).

Advances cannot exceed 25% of the award at any one time, and 75% must be spent before another advance. Urgent Grants "may also be required to provide up to 25% project match." Reimbursement via Performance Report and Request for Reimbursement forms.

Published amounts: "No minimum or maximum funding requests exist, although most projects are expected to request at least $50,000." Program "will be capable of delivering nearly $15 million in conservation grants every year".

Applicants are encouraged to contact their regional PFA Stream Biologist while building the application. Projects on private land need the Landowner Acknowledgement Form.
