Maryland Large Animal Veterinarian Assistance Loan Program (Large Animal Vet Assistance Loan)

The Maryland Large Animal Veterinarian Assistance Loan Program helps licensed large animal veterinarians obtain commercial financing to purchase a truck and/or specialized equipment to provide large-animal veterinary care services. MARBIDCO established the program to help attract and retain large animal veterinarians in Maryland.

Open to licensed large animal veterinarians seeking to start or expand large animal veterinary services in Maryland. Loans may be used to purchase a truck or other specialized equipment necessary for providing large animal veterinary care in Maryland. A minimum eligible credit score of 620 is required. A personal guarantee is required if a business entity is the borrower; owners of business entities must also provide guarantees.

Loans range from $25,000 to $100,000 at a 4.00% interest rate, with a 0.25% origination fee. Collateral security may not exceed 95% of fair market value; MARBIDCO determines collateral value during underwriting, including a first lien on the truck or other item being purchased.

The applicant must originate all applications.
