Delta Rice Conversion Program

The Delta Rice Conversion Program, part of the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta Conservancy's Delta Carbon Program, pays farmers up to $800 per acre toward the cost of converting deeply-subsided Delta fields to rice cultivation. Rice conversion helps arrest land subsidence and can provide a higher-value commodity for growers who cannot finance upfront conversion costs.
