Champions of New Hampshire Farms Grant Program

Grants of $1,000-$10,000 awarded to New Hampshire organizations to support extra efforts that promote New Hampshire agriculture and natural resources (not routine operating expenses). Administered by Champions of New Hampshire Farms, a 501(c)(5) nonprofit that returns proceeds from the NH Building at the Eastern States Exposition to NH agriculture and natural-resource organizations; grant information is hosted on the NH Department of Agriculture, Markets & Food funding page.

New Hampshire organizations engaged in the production, marketing, or promotion of NH agricultural products, industries or commodity groups, or natural resource industries and products. Applicant must have bylaws and a federal Employer Identification Number (EIN). Individual businesses are not eligible; only one project per organization per funding round, and organizations with incomplete prior Champions grants are ineligible until those are complete and reported.

Grants of $1,000-$10,000; no matching funds required, funds distributed based on the number of qualifying entries. Funds may not be used for administrative costs, salaries, overhead, or routine operating expenses, or to support programs the organization already funds. Recipients must submit a financial statement (with paid receipts) and a project results report on completion, and credit 'paid for, in part, with a grant from Champions of New Hampshire Farms.' A new Marketing Package category offers marketing-consultant services.

Submit the program application form by email to Kathy Fisher, Executive Director, Champions of NH Farms (champsnhfarms@gmail.com), who compiles proposals for the board's review. No matching funds are required. Funds are distributed to approved applicants by June 1 of the fiscal year, with the project expected to be completed within one year.
