Feed The Hunger Fund

Feed The Hunger Fund works side-by-side with its borrowers – primarily women, immigrants, and people of color – to build a more equitable food system. As a certified Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI), FTHF provides critical loans in Hawaii and California to help farmers and food entrepreneurs to start and grow businesses.

Feed The Hunger Fund lends within the State of Hawaii (Oahu, Kauai, the Island of Hawaii, Lanai, Molokai, and Maui) and in California's Central Coast, Central Valley, and Bay Area regions. FTHF focuses on food and agriculture small businesses — including food trucks, farms, brick-and-mortar restaurants, distributors, aquaculture, ranching, slaughterhouses, food processing/value-add, food markets, specialty stores, and online retail — and also lends outside the food system with a focus on businesses owned by low-income individuals, BIPOC, women, and immigrants. Loan funds can be used for fixed assets and operating expenses, including inventory, equipment, property improvements, vehicles, payroll, rent, marketing, and utilities.

Support doesn’t stop once a business is launched. Program specialists work one-on-one to nurture each business owner at every step along their journey. FTHF builds on the gifts each entrepreneur brings to the table by helping them learn what they need to know to be successful for the long-term.
